President Obama will be in Troy on Monday to speak at Hudson Valley Community College. The White House didn't give any details about the speech - other than it's about the economy.
The White House also didn't say why it chose to speak at HVCC now, but a spokesman for GlobalFoundries - a company that's building a new computer chip plant next door in Saratoga - did tell the Times-Union of Albany the company's been talking with the White House about the importance of a community college education for the future of the new plant.
This is the second big political pull for the Capital Region in the past couple months. Back in July, Vice President Joe Biden spoke at a high school in Saratoga county.
