In Afghanistan today, President Hamid Karzai was sworn in for his second term amidst the allegations of a fraudulent election. According to the New York Times Kazai's stressed to the people of Afghanistan and to the world that his army would be taking full control over all military operations within five years. Karzai announced that he aims to build a sense of security throughout Afghanistan with less civilian causalities.
Although the Afghans doubt his delivery, the new administration says they aim to end corruption and defend traditional Afghan values to become a more united nation.
Americans and Afghans alike await the reaction from the United States government to see whether or not President Barack Obama will support the election and continue to have a presence in Afghanistan for the future.
